01 about
Designing with purpose. Teaching with intention.
Hi, I’m Alicia. 👋🏾
An award-winning graphic designer and instructor at Florida A&M University in the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication, I’m also a proud FAMU alumna; Go Rattlers! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from FAMU and a Master of Fine Arts in Media Design from Full Sail University.
With over a decade of experience in the creative industry, my work centers on brand development, design strategy, and print design. I began my career at The Marome Agency in Fort Lauderdale, where I developed visual solutions for organizations like The Alonzo Mourning Family Foundation, BET, and the Greater Miami Gardens Chamber of Commerce. Today, I continue that work through my design studio, ESPOIR DESIGN, creating strategic, problem-solving design for a range of clients.
In the classroom, I bring that same real-world perspective to my students. I’m big on helping them think critically, design with intention, and understand how their work lives beyond the screen. Whether it’s branding, campaigns, or stepping into UX, I push them to connect ideas to impact and, as they like to say, secure the bag.
When I’m not teaching or designing, I’m constantly exploring new ways to push creative thinking, evolve my practice, and bring fresh ideas into both the classroom and the work I create.
